The Winery
Savory our incredible views while sipping one of our fine wines.
Or sample a flight and soak in the quiet beauty of Illinois wine country.
Rosario has succeeded in creating a jewel of a vineyard in an area of the country not known for growing quality grapes for winemaking. He is not a boaster, he is just proud of what he and his family have brought to the area. A place where people come to enjoy delicious wine, the beauty of nature and vines, lively entertainment and good times. The winery is an Illinois winery with mostly Illinois grown grapes through the development of French and Cold Climate hybrid grapes, such varieties as Marechal Foch, Leon Millot and Petite Pearl to name a few. There was a time when these would not survive Illinois’ harsh winters.
The hard work continues in the winery. The grapes are immediately processed. For our red wines this means destemming, then crushing and leaving them on the skins for the perfect color, pressing and finally left to ferment. Our white wines are crushed and pressed, and left to ferment. Our winery produces thousands of bottles of wine from our estate grown wines as well as grapes (not juice) imported from California and Chili. The wide variety of grapes from different wine regions allow us to bring to you a great selection of pure wines and unique blends. We are confident you will find wines your palate will enjoy, we will do whatever it takes to offer you the fine wine you are looking for. Fergedaboudit wines have won numerous bronze, silver and gold medals from several state competitions for Illinois and Finger Lakes New York.
Rosario’s family invites you to visit and become part of the Fergedboudit Vineyard and Winery family.
